This weekend I was invited by XFactor to attend their red carpet event as a VIP Guest with the charity I’m ambassador for ‘Singing For Happiness’.
I had a great time on the red carpet with stars, judges & hosts from the show. I’m very lucky to meet & perform with famous performers in my career & never take the opportunities I’m given for granted.
When I started my music career I remember vividly being given the opportunity to support X Factor’s ‘Danyl Johnson’ (4th position 2009 show) on a large corporate stage at Ricoh Arena, Coventry. The opportunity was exhilarating & really solidified the thought that music could hold some amazing opportunities for me, but only if I am brave enough to take them! I then continued to work with many tv artists & talents from: XFactor / Voice / Britons Got Talent – to this very day, including a few names off the top of my head: Steve Brookstien (First X Factor winner 2004), Ray Quinn (2nd to Leona Lewis 2006), Vince Freeman (The Voice runner up 2012), Nina Conti (Britons Got Talent star) to name a few.
I’ve been lucky enough to work with many artists and talents not just from hit tv shows but I wanted to take a few minutes to show my gratitude (not to boast) as I’m feeling nostalgic. Having the ability to be nostalgic at this early stage in my career is a real blessing & I’m very grateful. I think the lesson I have taken from these opportunities is that you shouldn’t be afraid to reach out & grab opportunities that present themselves. Be bold, be courageous, be brave. You never know where your next “YES!” Will lead you.
Speak soon, lots of love. Matt
